GP pilot to start at the Portsoken Centre
Finally, after hard work by local councilors, Tower Hamlets PCT have given the green light for a pilot GP facility to operate out of the upper level of the Portsoken Centre. The first GP surgery is to start May 6th For the month of May every Monday and Thursday 10am to 1pm.
Come and meet the team on Wednesday 28th April 9am to 12pm or Friday 30th April 9am to 11am

JOB READY FOR THE CITY
Are you aged 16-25 and Not in Education, Employment or Training (NEET)? Do you want to get into employment but don’t feel confident to take that first step?
‘Job ready for the City’ can give you the boost you need to set you on your way. The project uses a series of workshops and one-to-one mentoring, to build “soft skills”, raise confidence, increase self-esteem and equip you with the attributes you need to be “Job Ready”.

CITY APPRENTICE
Have you been out of work for a long time, and are you looking for an entry-level job? Do you want to get back into the labour market but want experience first?
The City Apprentice project can help you access work placements of up to 4 months within City firms, after an initial 2 month, individually tailored programme of one-to-one support.

LEADERSHIP BY EXAMPLE
Have you just graduated from university, and are now looking for employment? Do you want help in building your confidence and gaining further employment skills?
The Leadership by Example programme targets ethnic minority students/graduates and takes them through an employer-led programme to help them break into the graduate recruitment market. During a 3 month period, participants will receive bespoke training, help with completing psychometric tests, attend Masterclasses and learn about employment opportunities.

CITY LEARNING EXCHANGE
Are you aged 16 or over? Do you want to improve your confidence, public speaking, and gain employment skills?
City Learning Exchange gives you the opportunity to communicate your own perspectives directly to employers. You will receive training to build your confidence and to deliver workshops yourself, on issues relating to your local community, to City firms. In return this will help develop your communication and presentation skills. This will also provide you with an insight into the employment opportunities available in the City.

PREPARING THE PARENTS
Are you a parent or guardian who wants to know more about the City job market? Do you want to provide support/guidance to your child and their career decisions? ‘Preparing the Parents’ will help you raise awareness of the City job market, which you can then pass on to your children. The project also helps unemployed parents improve their own employability skills by giving them the opportunity to attend workshops on ‘City Opportunities’ and ‘How to market yourself to potential employers’.
