Start here kiosk

Have you noticed the kiosk in the lobby of the portsoken community centre - feel free to touch the screen and see where it leads. The Start Here Kiosk is a simple-to-use information service that makes it easier for people to find the help they need on a range of health, housing, education, employment and social issues. StartHere was established in response to a real life crisis and research which highlighted the gap in the information chain between those needing help and the support that is available.

MIDDLESEX STREET

Middlesex Street estate consists of a tower block of 23 floors and a square of family flats and bedsits arranged around a landscaped podium. There is also a large community centre open to all residents. There are covered parking bays for residents which can be rented on a weekly basis subject to availability. historically was an estate where many Jewish families resided and while this is still evident today, this situation appears to be changing. The area is increasingly becoming the home for young families of an ever more diverse background.
